Operative Anatomy
This was my first book. It was written out of frustration with existing texts - texts that I had used as a student and resident in surgery. I sought to combine surgical anatomy and surgical technique. My coauthor, Dr David L Dawson, is an experienced gross anatomist. The book has developed a steady following over the years since the first edition. It has been translated into multiple languages including Chinese, Korean, and Greek.
This third edition includes more than 750 full-color illustrations of 111 common and unusual surgical procedures. It is organized regionally and features both surgical technique and anatomic pearls. Each procedure is accompanied by anatomic and technical points, operative safeguards, and potential errors. Additional features are available on a companion website.
